R&B Agents      Rational and Behavioral Reasoning in Conversational Agents

This work is situated in the context of Conversational Assistant Agents which is at the intersection of two domains:
Assistant Agents are software tools that are designed to assist, in many ways, people involved in a computer-based or computer-mediated activity. Assistant agents are based on Artificial Intelligence reasoning over symbolic representations and they focus on the notion of rational agent.
Conversational Agents are virtual characters that interact in a multimodal way with people during a conversational session. Research on conversational agents is based on the modeling of human psychology (mental states, emotions etc.) and its expression in conversational sessions which is called behavioral reasoning.
the integration of conversational agents and assistant agents into so-called Assistant Conversational Agents (ACA) is a promising approach in human/computer interaction that brings about the necessity to investigate the nature of the intricated relationships between rational reasoning and behavioral reasoning.

Resources

The R&B toolkit is in current implementation in Mathematica.
The toolkit can be freely downloaded but you'll need a Mathematica licence to run it. Alternatively, you can consult the tutorial files in pdf format.

You can freely access the XML-based resources we have produced about personality adjectives:
